Pete Rose was a gamblin’ man.  It don’t matter how he hit or ran.  Take a note from Shoeless Joe Jackson.  If you bet a cent on this game, you’re banned.

Well, Ty Cobb was a racist from Georgia.  And Mickey Mantle drank enough to make another man drown.  Babe Ruth fathered illegitimate children.  They got their pictures up in Cooperstown.  But not Pete.

‘Cause Pete Rose was born a gamblin’ man.  He had more hits than DiMaggio or Stan.  [Hit me!]  But, when he put his money down, he let down all the fans.  They don’t like no gamblin’ man.  Sure, you got a book, but you also got a bookie, man.
